Julie St – Pierre Owner & Clinical Director
Julie is celebrating 10 years in practice this year. She is pleased that Stillwater Speech Therapy is offering speech therapy services in Tantallon, Nova Scotia, as well as home visits and preschool/daycare visits in the HRM surrounding areas. Julie is nationally certified by Speech-Language and Audiology Canada (SAC) and is a member of the Speech and Hearing Association of Nova Scotia (SHANS).
In addition to providing speech therapy services for children and adults, Julie works with the Nova Scotia College of Early Childhood Education as part of their workshop series. Workshops cover topics on learning through play, as well as language and literacy enhancement in the classroom environment. Julie also teaches undergraduate university courses with the Department of Child and Youth Study at Mount Saint Vincent University. She is currently lecturing for Dalhousie University’s School of Human Communication Disorders.
Julie graduated with her Masters of Science from Dalhousie University and has undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Child & Youth Study. Over the last 15 years, she has worked with children and adults with special needs, providing support for adults in community living placements, providing respite support, and delivering home-based programming and intervention for preschool and school age children with communication disorders.
Daphne Burden Associate
We are pleased to announce that Daphne has been part of our team at Stillwater Speech Therapy. Daphne is a graduate of the Masters of Speech-Language Pathology program of the University of Alberta. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland.
Daphne brings with her extensive experience working with school-age children with a variety of communication needs. She also owned and operated a small private practice catering to the needs of preschool age children and adults, prior to relocating to Nova Scotia. Daphne is a nationally certified speech-language pathologist with Speech-Language and Audiology Canada (SAC) and is a member of the Speech and Hearing Association of Nova Scotia (SHANS).
Heather Napoli Associate
We are pleased that Heather continues to be part of our team at Stillwater Speech Therapy. Heather is a graduate of the Masters of Speech-Language Pathology program of the University of Toronto. She also holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Dalhousie University.
Heather has experience working with preschool and school-age children as well as adults. In addition to her caseload with Stillwater Speech Therapy, she works on contract with the Dalhousie Aphasia Clinic, as a clinician with InteRACT. Heather has certification for the “It Takes Two to Talk” Program with Hanen and for Basic Training with PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System). She is also a nationally certified speech-language pathologist with Speech-Language and Audiology Canada (SAC) and with the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and is a member of the Speech and Hearing Association of Nova Scotia (SHANS).
